Today - 10/11/2003, the cross team raced it's first race of the 2003/4 season.
Being the day before the first VACX race the NCVC Ed Sanders cross race worked
out as a good testing ground for the team.
The course was very fast, mainly grass with a few barriers and run-ups so we got
a good workout.
The first race was the B class (considered Cat 4/3).
George Schulz on his nice IF and I had a good race, just missing out on the
awards but having a great ride.
I took sixth.
The next race was the 35+/45+ class and Steve DonTigny had a great race, placing
third. Way to show the old guys the fast way around the track!
(I can say that because I am over 35 myself)
The third race was a mix of Women, Juniors and C class (Cat 5/4).
Racing his first cross race Jesse Saldane had great time (on his mountain
bike) and finished 2nd.
Also racing his first race Will Darman blasted around the course in the C class.
Brain Hall, sandbaggin in the C class, took the overall and had a great battle
with Junior sensation Escabar (Coppi){not sure on the spelling, sorry}.
Brain will be moving up to the B class for the rest of the season.
That is a total of six Evo riders. Good turnout for a road club.
Thanks to all that came out, see you all in C'ville tomorrow!
